Achey limbs, headaches and tingling

As the title says. Does anyone suffer with this?

I’ve had a TT and on 100mcg of levithyroxine.

Doc calling me back as I want another blood test.

Could it be a case of vitamin deficiency??

I get muscle aches, fingers and bottom of feet.

Tingling occasionally down arms. Tiredness and occasional headaches.

TT performed August 2018.

Might be hypothyroidism ie you need more levothyroxin, or/ and low vits/ mins...try to get dr. to do complete thyroid bloods with FT3 and b12, vitD, ferritin and folate for starters!

You have my complete sympathy as one who still has her thyroid gland.

I could not improve on levothyroxine at all. I also believe that people who have no thyroid gland should be given a combination of T4/T3 - at the very least.

T4 is an inactive hormone - it has to convert to T3. T3 being the Active Hormone. We have millions of T3 receptor cells and all need T3 in order for our body to function normally, i.e. brain and heart need the most T3.

Also - in the past - we used to be prescribed NDT (natural dessicated thyroid hormones) which contain all of the hormones a healthy gland would and many recover on this. They withdrew this due to making False Statements about it and refused to respond to one of TUK's Advisers who made a Rebuttal.

I had the same after my TT in 2015, before this my thyroid was working well and I was not on any medication. I had been very fit, yoga, swimming walking etc never overweight. After only eight month on Levo I was unable to get up from the floor everything was aching then I joined this site and learnt more about the thyroid. I now self medicate on NDT and feel OK again. If I do get the odd ache it's usually because I am due for more medication and after half and hour or so the pain goes away.

Cani ask what ndt is please?

They’ve offered me blood tests for Ths, t4, t3, vitamin b, d and iron

NDT is natural either porcine or bovine thyroid. I never felt well on Levo and also gained weight which had never happened to me before.

It's very important to have your bloods tested post the results on here with the ranges. You need TSH, T4, FT3, B12, Ferretin, Folate and Vitamin D also have your antibodies checked to find out it you have Hashi's or not.

Take the test first thing fasting, leaving of Levo for 24 hours prior to the test. I use Medickecks it's private but will give you everything you required.

I usually test only once a year so it's good value.

Are your parathyroid glands OK ? Tingling can be calcium deficiency so might be worth getting that checked . I had TT too long time ago and tingling for me has always been calcium . Apparently parathyroid glands can get scratched or damaged in thyroidectomy surgery , mine did and then calcium levels need checking regularly.

Just a thought !

It’s not that but many thanks for the suggestion. The tingling has long gone so I’m presuming it was a virus??!
