I have mistakenly taken 25mcg of T3 instead of 1 NDT . I have already taken my usual 12.5 mcg of T3 this morning but stupidly picked up a T3 instead of the NDT this afternoon . I've never managed to do this before , but was trying to do three things at once , a woman's thing ! I'm slightly panicking now because of the heart association . Would it help if I took some magnesium ? Any advice very gratefully received .

I'd call NHS 111 for medical advice. I'm sure you'll be fine, maybe a bit hyper or tachycardic and anxious but best get medical advice from the pros to be safe.

Best advice is probably simply to relax.
Yes, you might notice it. But unless you find your heart rate zooming up, it will most likely be of little significance.
I agree with helvella, relaxing about it is the best thing to do. I've doubled up either deliberately or accidentally much more than once without any problem at all. My Endo also recently doubled my 20 mcg to 40 mcg and I simply took the extra tablet from that day on. There really is no need to panic.
As 25mcg of T3 is around, in its effect, to 100mcg of levo and as 1 grain of NDT is approx equal to 100mcg of levo I wouldn't worry too much.
Thank you everyone ! It's good to have advice from those who have more knowledge than me . Anyway so far so good . Don't think my pulse has actually altered .
My temp didn't rise but my pulse certainly did at times but I found sipping ice-cold water and wrapping a wet towel round neck reduced it.
The cardiologist was very puzzled re severe palpitations and was considering putting an implant in heart to 'see' what was going on, but about a week later I took some T3 and palps magically resolved and I've never seen him since.
A day later - any change? Are you OK?
