swollen gland

Hi everyone has anyone ever had swollen gland on one side of neck which is very sore to touch, I have had this a couple of times before and the last time I had it the Dr took bloods which were clear, is this just part of having hypothyroidism? thanks for reading x

Thanks for replying JaneyJaney I did have a scan about 2 years ago and it was clear so will go to Dr's prob is an infection.

Sometimes a dental infection can cause a gland to swell on one side of the neck. Or an ear or throat infection. Is everything else fine apart from this gland?

I think I know what it is, got the house painted 2 weeks ago and I would take allergic reactions to perfume or air freshener usually cold symptoms was just thinking last night about it and the timing fits and also the glands starting to go down now but still have a lot of phlegm.......thanks for replies x

Would you know if it's your salivary gland ? Salivary gland can sometimes be blocked by little stones . Do you also have dry mouth ? If that's the case you might want to sock on a lemon candy or a slice of a fresh lemon or chewing gum can help get the salivary gland start working . Massaging the salivary gland from the ears down wards is very helpful too .

You might want to run labs with FT4 FT3 TSH to make sure your not in need of thyroid increase .
