Ellie Russ is touching so many points about treating hypothyroidism. She goes over the results and what they mean. She covers the misdiagnosis of heart problems when it may be deficiencies. T3 efficient is interesting even with NO thyroid. Temperature, pulse, BP, symptoms all need to be examined which is another issue when you are on thyroid hormone. Lots of good information from this woman.

Dr. Russ talks about how to take T3. She has been on T3 only for 7 years but started with NDT. She spreads out her T3.

She talks about Mexican cynomel. Brand name is three times the price. Sigma pharmaceuticals has a generic lio sodium. Also comes in smaller doses. You need to multidose any hormone if you are over the normal two grain or 25 mcgs T3. The dose in the morning should be the higher. Adrenals need T3!

Some people take slow release T3 and mentions Paul Robinson "how do you know when you need more during a day". Multi dosing is safer but T3 does not stimulate like coffee.

She is 45 and said progesterone is key for her. She explains how the thyroid applies to a woman's cycle. Progesterone increases TPO enzyme and binds to T3. Temperature taking is important. She explains how and why.

She recommends a pulse wristwatch to gauge your own trends. She was relaxing and found her pulse was still up to 88. She said that was possibly due to a low T3 level at that time. Anything lower than 66 as a resting pulse is probably not a good sign.

She's had adrenal fatigue herself, low morning cortisol, etc. Almost any thyroid patient will need T3.

You will know that you are not alone when a person with such great knowledge has suffered at the hands of doctors with misdiagnosis, wrong treatments, poor attitudes toward sick patients and everything we have all faced and realize there is a way out.

Worth signing up and listening to Elle Russ - a refreshing take on EVERYTHING hypothyroid. Thanks for sharing this Heloise

Did you have to sign up to view it, Solstice? This was a good summit. I think I'll try to put the full list and if anyone is interested they can choose who they care to watch but it's only for tomorrow since this is a repeat weekend.

Yes, but that's the norm these days :)

Really enjoyed being reminded (in a weirdly reassuring way) of just how much the medical profession (in the main) don't know and Elle truly knows what's what.

I went Low Carb / Keto at the end of November and it has been so transformative! Another area which the medical profession are doing the wrong tests - overlooking insulin! By the time blood glucose rises, the damage has been done!

Hope you are keeping well, I don't come to the forum so much these days as so much better, but pleased to see you post. xx

That's wonderful, Solstice, low carb/Keto is perfect. I just wish I could get some of the tests these functional doctors are using because they are interested in enzymatic pathways and precursors for hidden inflammation, etc. Justin's own interview goes into adrenal issues more deeply. These are excellent videos.

I had a food test and am not supposed to eat avocado. I ate a lot of guacamole so maybe that stumped me for a while.

No avocado, ohh that's such a shame!

I've been watching a podcast by Ivor Cummins with Mikhaila Peterson - whether you agree with carnivore or not, her personal journey is quite remarkable - not thyroid but autoimmune and as we know that's a big factor in finding the root. Just recently having been her best ever, she's been tested positive for Lyme; the next stage for her will be interesting.

You guys across the pond seem to be more advanced in testing generally, but lots more needed. I live in hope but can't see it becoming mainstream in my lifetime. Just really thankful to all the info people post on this forum. It's been my goto resource and has served me very well. Time consuming but so worth it. Literally everything I know about health or new discovery came from here!!!

We, the PEOPLE, have to get together forming our own society for regaining health. Doctors are certainly NOT doing it. Some members here are using these very doctors. With technology, there are no boundaries (except for money). Even that may be within our pockets as they are more motivated by results than a bank account. The stem cell arena is going to change the aging process very soon. Brilliant researchers cannot be stopped. Have you heard the word "hacked". No, YOU keep living and you will see it all.

I've not heard of Ivor Cummins but will check out the podcast.

Good to hear from you as always.
