Hi all, time for my annual bloods but I've lost the suggested list to test - can someone point me in right direction pls?
Gp always refuses to test RT3 & won't do a Saliva Cortisol but does a useless blood test 1st thing in the morning! Should I refuse this as waste of time & money?
Thanks in advance..
Ps I'm on 3 grains NDT daily & had large Pituitary tumour removed 6 yrs ago.

You're in the UK? We shouldn't pay for tests our doctor does.
Routine tests are
TSH
FT4
FT3 (essential as you're taking NDT)
If not already tested then thyroid antibodies are useful.
We need to keep out vitamins and minerals optimal so an annual check on the following is a good idea:
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
Testing rT3 doesn't tell us anything useful, even if it is high it doesn't tell us why it's high and there are many, many reasons for high rT3, not just thyroid related.
I did reply to this to thank you Seaside Susie but it's disappeared - had all the tests u suggested but they didn't test TG ("not sent for analysis")
Posted all test results yest & the Hypomonster suggested RT3 poss cos of high T4 & T3? Bit confused now as u say not useful to test RT3..
Oh and I meant in my original post that I didn't want to waste NHS money on a blood Cortisol as I believe it's only a 4 point Saliva test that's helpful!
