Hi guys, still mulling everything ovet re my last two posts ( and unbelievably helpful comments).

Does anyone know what this means please :

The test name on my Tg antibody bloods says: Thyroglobulin and autoantibodies and then the result name says : Thyroglobulin, Beckman!

Does this mean Ive had my Tg antibodies tested or not??

X

Very simply put (because I'm not clever with words) Beckman is the manufacturer of the machine used in the testing procedure.

Ok, thank you. Do you know about the difference in names, I mean does this mean I've only actually had thyroglobulin tested and not antibodies? Two GPS told me different things

Antibodies are mentioned, to me that looks like antibodies were tested. What exactly did it say on your print out?

Just that, The test name was : Thyroglobulin and autoantibodies and then the result name says : Thyroglobulin, Beckman!

Result was 6.3ug/l. I believe this is ab index which means result needs to be <0.9.

I want to know if it is slightly raised antibodies so I have something to fight gp with, don't want to go in fighting if it wasn't antibodies tested 😕. Thanks for your help

Without trawling through lots of links given on Google, I found this here

labcorp.com/test-menu/35751...

• The Beckman Coulter TgAb assay has a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.9 IU/mL.

So that fits in with what you say and yours are well over range.

Thank you I will read this thoroughly. Out of interest do you know the differences between ug/ l and iu/ ml etc. I know what it stands for but its confusing. Some posts are saying their levels are supposed to be under 115, some are saying theirs needs to be under 4.11, then mine says under 0.9! I feel confused that mine seems high at 6.3 but some are in the hundreds! Nothing seems simple

That's just the units of measurement the individual test uses - in this case one is measuring micrograms per litre and the other international units per millilitre. I find it best not to worry about what the unit of measurement is, it's where within (or out of) whatever range that is important.

Some posts are saying their levels are supposed to be under 115, some are saying theirs needs to be under 4.11, then mine says under 0.9!

That all depends on the range that comes with their test and that will be different with different equipment, ignore everyone else's just use the range that comes with your test.

I feel confused that mine seems high at 6.3 but some are in the hundreds!

As previous explanation. Your test equipment measures up to 0.9 as within range, that's all that is important.
