Palpitations and headaches

3 months since I've had a blood test. Thought I was doing okay on 125mg of levo.. this last week I've had a constant head ache, had heart palpitations and feel so tired I could sleep all day. Taking vit d as well as my levo. Just wondering if people think its worth going for bloods at doctors.

Yes, I would ask. Problem is that GP would only be allowed to test TSH.

I would ask to see an Endocrinologist and get all tfts done.

Also : are you still taking a high daily dose of Vitamin D? This really needs retesting asap.

Your prolactin was higher than the range previously, wasn’t it? Would be worth asking for that to be retested to see what that’s doing now. Also, are you still gluten free? Is it possible you’ve been accidentally glutened?

I’m certainly not saying it isn’t your thyroid dose that needs revisiting :) but sometimes we forget to consider other things could be the cause.

My prolactin went down to normal range as was retested for that.

I've not done gluten free for a couple of months.. may have to go back on to it

It could be that simple. Not promising or anything - but I feel awful now if I have anything with gluten in.

Will have to get back to gluten free.

Not had a change of brand of Levothyroxine?

Teva upsets many

I've been on teva for over a year now, never had a problem before

Are you lactose intolerant?

Teva is the only lactose free Levothyroxine

I don't think so, never thought to check lacto always just done gluten free.

For palpitation I would ask for your Iron /ferritin levels B-12/folate , Vitamin "D" . Fillers in the Levo can cause reactions too .

Wishing You Well-Being .

Thank you I will request those

I think I'll request to see an endo too. As I've never seen one. We've also been trying for a baby for over a year now and been unsuccessful. The doctors wants my partner to get checked before running anymore on me..

Very important to test B12, folate and ferritin. These need to be optimal

B12 and folate are very important for a baby's neurological development too

Your so welcome . You might want to look for an Endo that is knowledgeable with thyroid and fertility . Magnesium would be very helpful with palpitations and headaches too .

Best Wishes for a great outcome .

Low vitamins are EXTREMELY common hypothyroid problem

These should have been tested regularly if trying for another baby

Diet can have a dramatic effect on how thyroid medication is absorbed. Before doing anything else try going back on gluten free.

If trying for a baby it is really important for your thyroid hormones to be optimal in range. You need to have fT3 (free T3) and fT4 tested to check they're in top quarter of range. Don't go on just TSH.

They was tested the doctor said they were in the right range. Hence looking at my partner now over me. As I've successfully had 3 children with previous partner. They think its best to test him now before they go further with me.
