TSH Receptor Antibodies- Elevated but how bad?

Hello Lovely Group!

TSH Receptor Antibodies are back, and they are of course elevated (mum was diagnosed with Graves in 2015, confirmed by elevated antibodies then).

My question is; in the scheme of things, just how elevated is this result?

(Is this question spurious; dose it not matter how elevated the result is? Does it all come down to the individual and elevated is elevated?)

Feb 14th 2019

TSH Receptor Antibodies 1.72 (0-0.81 IU/L)

When I did a search for other people's results they seemed much higher. I'm trying to figure out if mum is having a flare in antibodies at the moment and if that's contributing to her symptoms. (Her TSH and FT4 have risen since her previous bloods in December that were taken just before she became very unwell again, though they are still 'in range').

Feb 14th- Medichecks

TSH 1.95 mIU/L (0.27-4.2)

FT4 19 pmol/L (12-22)

FT3 5.18 pmol/L (3.1-6.8)

Dec 21st - NHS

TSH 1.74 mIU/L (0.55-4.78)

FT4 13.4 pmol/L (11.5-22.7)

The odd thing also is her basal body temperature is quite low, recently often down at 35.5 degrees celsius, which I know suggests hypo and not hyper.

I am wondering if this episode is down to a flare in these antibodies, or low 'in range' b12, or adrenal issue (still awaiting cortisol saliva test results), or perhaps all/none. I know it's a guessing game for all of us, but some knowledgeable heads lending me their opinion would be much appreciated!

Thank you once again.
