I just found out I have Hashimoto and my antibodies are 650. I’m achey everywhere and tired and get weak like I’ll pass out with any activity. I have had stress my whole life. Extreme. But last 10 years it’s better. But now I’m sick. Any help? I use thyrovanz. Please let me know if that’s good

Do you have your other results? TSH, FT4, FT3? If you post them with the ranges, people will be better able to advise you.

thyrovanz is what is called a glandular, for thyroid 'support', and is not a substitute for thyroid hormone replacement. It possibly has some hormone in it, but there is no way of knowing how much, it is therefore difficult to dose accurately with. In other words, it's a bit hit and miss!

Now you need to also have Thyroid Function Tests (tfts) - didn't you have them done again same time as Antibodies? Was that a TPO (Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies ) result?

It would also be helpful to have some nutrients levels tested (especially Vitamin D ) so if you've not had any of the following tested yet ask for them and post results with ranges in brackets for comment.

TSH, Free T3, FreeT4, T4 :

Vitamin D; B12; Folate and Ferritin.

You could also ask for a referal to an Endocrinologist.

Achy tired and weak are classic Hashimoto’s symptoms . I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s over 30 years ago . You can do many things and lead a very normal life but you must start thyroid replacement - pharmaceutical thyroid replacement if possible and as soon as possible. Even with pharmaceutical grade thyroid replacement it’ll take weeks and months for things to start to normalize. With the lesser, natural over-the-counter type supplements you may never get better.

I read the story of a Dr. - who himself had Hashimoto’s. He knew what to do and began a protocol to reduce root causes, diet, herbs vitamins, etc. and even though he was successful in reducing his Hashimoto’s symptoms, he continued to take thyroid hormone replacement because it gave him energy. He took other hormones as well, eg, testosterone. All of these things he did because he said it improved his feeling of well-being, energy, stamina, mental clarity. He was a great proponent of using hormones in a therapeutic way, emphasizing how we should not be afraid of hormones or of using them as treatment. To state again, he continued this hormone therapy even after he believed he had put his Hashimoto’s into remission. All of this to say we really do need the hormones - the best ones we can find - when we are battling Hashimoto’s .

Thank you so much for responding. So just the thyrovanz is not going to help me? Do I take it along with synthroid? When I only took synthroid my hair started falling and I was tired all the time for sure. So I switched to only thyrovanz. I’ll get my numbers and post. Thank you all so much for your kindness.

So - how are you doing on just thyrovanz? I’m not familiar with this product, but if you are still tired, achy, etc., it won’t hurt to do an experiment with both. Symptoms do go away when you have the right balance of hormones. The advice about gluten and dairy is also good. If you have Hashimotos - which many with thyroid problems do, then gluten especially can be like pouring gas on the fire.

You won’t feel better overnight it’s a journey but be patient with yourself and allow yourself time to heal. Start with eliminating gluten and dairy. Here’s a helpful link to a lady who is a pharmacist and created a protocol for Hashimoto’s because she has it herself
