subacute thyroiditis

Possible diagnosis of subacute thyroiditis with nodules. My thyroid gland is swollen with neck compression, nodules against my arteries. Possibly sent to endocrinologist.

I've been reading that usually removal isn't recommended more of a treatment with medication is usually done. Of course that seems to be without the compression.

Does anyone have experience with the surgery option. How far along symptom wise for surgery to be considered?

I feel surgery would be the better option. I'm aware I would require regular bloodwork. I'm already diabetic so regular bloodwork wouldn't be a big deal to me. Just another thing to do. Thoughts?

Was this intended as an answer in response to someone else's question; or are you asking a question yourself? You need to give more information - surgery for what? - as there is nothing in your profile. Using complete sentences also helps make your intent more clear.
