Help with my results and thyroid medication

Hi everyon

e,

I would appreciate very much with some input on what I should do. I have started taking thyroid medication beginning of last year, mostly through my own initiative but did go to a private specialist (a former GP) who confirmed the diagnosis for Hashimotos. I am trying to conceive for the last three years with one misscariage 2 1/2 years ago and the reason why I got into trying to sort out my health for conception is mostly fertiltiy as i will be 37 this year.

At the moment I am taking 65 mg Whole thyroid and also t4 25 mcg (synthroid).

I was previously on 90 mg Whole thyroid but started to feel a little hyper and my doctor wanted to put me on t3 only as he thought its the only thing that would help with my Hashimotos. I was totally against it since in my understanding is that t3 is the last option and being relatively healthy with only mjnor symptoms. Also since I am trying to conceive i thought it wouldn't be a good idea. My reasoning was that since I started to medicate only recently it would take time to find the right dose and see if the more "standard" treatment is ok for me. So I asked for t4 and reduced my dose for WT by the same amount as the t4 I was adding. I wanted to see if it was the ratio of the Whole thyroid that was the problem, and if it was just too much t3 that was giving me all those hyper symptoms where otherwise I had generaly felt better on WT.

I have been on this for a month and a half. I feel ok, however I think I am still not optimal. I do have symptoms which indicate both hyper and hypo. I have hot flashes, and sometimes increased heart rate, but get cold easily and need lots of sleep. My hair was falling out more than usual before I added the t4 but now its better. My antibodies are still high and still get tired in the afternoon. My libido is also low.

My GP thinks my levels are fine and he doesnt think I should increase the dose. But I am not sure because sometimes the hyper symptoms can appear if the raising of the medication was done too quickly or the body might react like this until it balances itself. My GP thinks I am fine if I was to fall pregnant but I am so scared if and not optimal then in pregnancy it will be a problem to adjust the medicine. Any suggestions please?

Also I have started to take LDN a week ago to try and bring my antibodies down.

Thank you!
