My immediate thoughts are that I'm feeling better for the last week than I have for some time, although still very tired after moderate exertion. To my untrained eye it looks as if I'm within range and I'm not wanting to go any lower. Am I right, or is there some benefit to be had from going lower? Am I right in thinking it's the FT3 that's most indicative of how things are going?
If anyone is kind enough to have a look and give their opinion it would be great. One thing I've wondered right from the "hyper" diagnosis is why my symptoms generally have been more hypo than hyper. Could this have been a huge Hashi flare? I'm seeing my GP on Friday and plan to ask for all relevant antibodies to be tested.
I have Graves Disease but was never monitored as closely as you - and this makes me upset.
It would seem in 2003/4 and at the age of 56/7 I was on the B road to RAI with no attempt made to adjust, or titrate my medication. Maybe it was deemed at a certain age you are not considered worthy of the investment of the time and money. Sorry, I digress.
So, in my humble opinion these last results look pretty good and you know how you feel which is good and yes, the question of TSI and TRAB antibodies has to be had with the endocrinologist.
There is now a vaccine being trialled for the Graves antibody. Keep this in your hat for another time, if necessary, if needed !
As your body has been running very fast, it might be a good idea to get the relevant vitamins and minerals checked out.
You'll need to be optimum in all and not somewhere in the range, as detailed on this amazing forum.
Good luck, stand strong, it's your health and your future :
I'm sad and angry that you didn't get the treatment you needed, I hope things have improved for you since those early days.
This forum is a wonderful thing, without it I'm sure I wouldn't have paid so much attention to my own levels and would have understood far less. Still learning, though.
I will pursue the TSI and TRAB tests as I'm still not absolutely convinced that this is Graves. Retrospectively I realise that I have had these 'Graves' symptoms on and off throughout my life (I'm 54), thinking back, often at times of stress.
I did get some vitamin checks done back in December - folate, ferritin and B12 - they were all within range but on the low side and I've been supplementing since then so would be interested to see what they are now. I'm seeing my GP tomorrow so will ask for a re-test, along with Vit D, and will work at getting them up.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement, all the best to you
