Need advice please , my results on 3 seperate occasions were high anti bodies so i assume that's hashimotos ? Is that a certainty or a maybe ?? It's just im going to see my gp ( actually the man in the surgery) as I'm actually more qualified and usually self diagnose lol but anyway I want it in my records as hashimotos disease how can I be tested or indeed is there an actual test they can do to actually diagnose hashis ? As last time I asked he said hmmm maybe hang on what's hashis ?? ..... you get my point dont you thyroid family 😁

He would know it by the medical term thyroiditis, or chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, and less likely by the name of the Japanese Dr who first described it in 1912, Hakaru Hashimoto.

Whether you have tested positive for Hashimoto's depends upon which antibodies were tested; and whether they tested 'high in range', or 'high' ie above range.

In the U.K. Medics call it autoimmune thyroid disease and think antibodies case no problem whatsoever

Patients know from experience that antibodies do cause symptoms

Have you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested?
