Can I substitute with Levo which I have plenty of until I get back? I am taking 4 x 20mcg T3.

Any help will be so welcome 😢

You can do but it probably won't work as well for you. You are on a high dose of L-T3 which would equate to about 240 mcg of L-T4 but I would aim for about 150 mcg if you haven't been on L-T4 only. Since the half life of L-T3 is much shorter than L-T4 I would migrate from L-T3 to L-T4 gradually. It might be an idea to reduce your L-T3 dose now and save some for India. Enjoy your trip to India, beware that they are experts at scamming tourists so don't get tricked into buying anything expensive!

Thank you ! And for the India advice too 😂

So the plan might be to drop down T3 a bit and add a bit of T4 so get to somewhere like 125Levo with a bit of T3 added?

You could try buying T3 in India. I don't know whether this is possible. I looked for Indian T3 a few months ago on the web (out of curiosity to see if I could find it). What I found was several websites that would proudly claim to sell liothyronine, even tag items as being liothyronine, but when I investigated further it was clearly levothyroxine they were selling.

Those boxes I did find that looked like they might really contain T3, in many cases only contained 10 tablets.

So if you do look for T3 in India be very, very wary.

I thought L.A.Pharma was Indian t3? Never had it, but have seen it for sale on one ndt website, it's 100 mcg.

I must admit I've never heard of it.

I wonder how many people need 100mcg T3 per day? It wouldn't be a good product for many people, in my opinion.

To you mean my dose wouldn’t suit most people? I don’t know but each time I increase the dose I seem to feel better and hopeful that recovery is around the corner. I am self medicating and basing my dose on how it makes me feel- maybe I’m wrong?

I think it might be high for a lot of people, yes. But if you need 80mcg per day, then that's what you need. What suits other people is of no relevance. :)

I have been searching for T3 avail in India. I will be travelling there soon too and hoped to stock up. The only brand name a saw is THYLEXAN - T3 avail at pharmacies I believe. Good luck and let me know if you have success while out there?

Enjoy your trip
