Patients needed for focus groups

A researcher at the NIHR Greater Manchester Patient Safety Research Centre, University of Manchester is looking at the views and experiences of patients who use online discussion forums to discuss their medications and has asked Thyroid UK to help recruit participants:

Do you live in the Greater Manchester area and suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, mental health issues or lung or thyroid conditions? Do you use online health forums or social media to discuss your health condition?

Out of interest, what is the aim of the study? I would have thought that as a general topic, it's been done to death; but perhaps it has a particular angle/aim?

On their website it states, "The purpose of this research is to find out about the views of patients about sharing information from online forums in relation to adverse drug reactions. We hope to use this information to develop ways to feedback information about adverse drug reactions to healthcare organisations to improve patient safety."

lynmynott it is a pity it is only the Manchester area, otherwise my son and I would be good to study for drug side effects on Levothyroxine, as we are still suffering 9 years later.
