I'm just out of a meeting in which I explained my wife's thyroid condition to my boss. He asked me if anyone has lobbied their local MP in an effort to make the government aware of the lack of care thyroid patients get through the NHS.
Has that been tried or done by anyone and if so what was the result?

I don’t know where you are, but in Scotland we have a petition with Scottish Government raised by a Lorraine Cleaver, who has been incredible with a huge fight on her hands. Elaine Smith MSP has thyroid problems herself & has taken great interest. But the petition is a few years running now & it’s terribly frustrating
I’ve been on various treatments including Levo, Levo with T3. NDT. NDT with T3, and I felt slightly better on NDT. The source ended up being problematic & the endo won’t prescribe it. So, after years of being crap, feeling better & now back on Levo & T3, back to being crap again. Out at sea, tired & frustrated. T3 doesn’t work for everyone as Lorraine agrees, but NDT isn’t a consideration with standard health care professionals
I typed ITT ( Improve Thyroid Treatment ) into the Search Box above - and many posts appeared - which may give you some idea of the efforts that have been made and continue to be made.
As long as government are in cahoots with Big Pharma - Big food - things will not improve - sadly. The Western Health Model is all about money and NOT the patient.
Yes, both in Scotland as has been said, and in England where Lord Hunt of West Heath has championed the lobbying and petitioning of Lord O'Shaughnessy at the end of last year, with a substantial dossier not only putting the true scientific facts about thyroid treatment but the stories of many of us suffering the effects of inadequate treatment. The dossier was supported by Prof Chattergee, a well known medic who's often on the tv, and it was the result of many thyroid groups working together to produce something that was undeniable. Vince Stamp has also raised questions in the House. Your boss has obviously not been watching the news or reading the press. Now Lord O'S has resigned the ball is in Matt Hancock's court.
Ah ok, I am glad to hear that something is being done. It was only last week I sat in a doctors office with my wife and he told us that there was no scientific evidence that T3 works...
I wonder then, how he explains that the people who have had their thyroids surgically removed years before, and who have been on mono-T3 therapy since, are still alive and well to tell the tale...... 🙂 It makes you feel like asking him "Are you listening to yourself?" before instructing him to give himself a slap around the head.
He sounds a victim of scaremongering by his peers - sadly. Stick with this forum and you will be kept up to date with information that it seems the Docs do not have - or do not want to see. When a Thyroid remains poorly treated there are lots of drugs that can be prescribed - filling the coffers of Big Pharma - and keeping patients unwell and needing more ...
No evidence it works? Would he let you take 20 tablets in one go then as it doesn’t work? What a n*b! If it doesn’t work why does a healthy thyroid make the bloody stuff then? Did you laugh? 🤸🏿♀️
Dr Myhill once wrote that the only benefit of a statin was similar to the anti-inflammatory effect of VitD - so why not take VitD I subsequently read that the new generation of Statins contained VitD ! Of course taking a statin and reducing Cholesterol also reduces the benefit of sun on the skin and the processing of VitD - ummm !
I am currently watching Vaccines Revealed - on-line summit. Now if you really want to be blown away regarding the corruption and the hiding of negative research then it is a must see ! So pleased to see Andrew Wakefield coming into his own at last ...
I have spoken to my local MP and he has passed my strongly-worded comments to the minister for health because he was so shocked at the farcical way we are treated. I am waiting for a response. As soon as I do I shall pass on information. Good luck x
