Hi
I had Graves disease over twenty years ago and my endo very reluctantly put me on carbimazole ( there were specific reasons for his reluctance but not relevant here) . I was on it for two years by which time the Graves disease seemed to have abated and I came off the medication. After an interval of about three-four years the over-active thyroid symptoms returned, though I was still at the very very top end of the normal range and was referred to an endo. I knew there was no way they would prescribe carbimazole again so went to a western herbalist who had treated this before and took personalised liquid herbal medicine for just over a year. This got rid of my symptoms and brought my TSH etc back to my normal range and I was discharged from my endo without them having made any intervention.
I am not sure whether the herbal tintures did help as I was changing a lot in my life at the time - I took a lot of steps to become less stressed and to eat and exercise better. I am also currently suffering from Hashimotos and those increased levels might might have been an early Hashimoto's flare and not a return of the Graves. However I would suggest that you initially get a formal diagnosis and discuss possibilities with your GP before anything else - I certainly found the carbimazole worked after the initial diagnosis.
Hope this helps.
