For me it was still having many debilitating symptoms of hypothyroidism even though I was on ever increasing doses of Levo to eventually produce an FT4 of 30 where the range was 11.8-24.6

I feel like My gut function is at 0

So much pain. For nearly 7 weeks

I went gluten and dairy free yesterday and it’s helped a little

I am on Levo 200.

Think I could do with some T3

Should I go to hospital?

A&E is for emergencies. If you have sudden, debilitating, unexplained pain then ring 111 for advice. They will decide if you need to go to hospital as an emergency.

I haven't had gut problems.

You will know if you need T3 when your FT4 and FT3 are tested at the same time. If your FT4 is high in range and your FT3 is low in range then you have got a conversion problem. No other way of knowing. If GP wont do them together then you may wish to do what hundreds of us here do and that is a private test with one of ThyroidUK's recommended labs.

Are the ft3 levels higher as the day goes on?

All levels - TSH, FT4 and FT3 - vary throughout the day. Here is a post which has graphs of TSH, FT4 and FT3 so you can see how they fluctuate. FT3 is highest at midnight and lowest just after 3pm.

It can take up to 6 months for all traces of gluten, and their effects, to leave your body once you embark on an exclusionary diet. If you haven't already, why not phone 111 and have a phone consult with a Dr in the first instance? To assess the possibility that you need T3, you can compare your FT4 and FT3 levels; if your FT4 is top of range and your FT3 is bottom end, for instance, that's a pretty good indicator.

You feel hypo, but your Free t4 is quite high in range and TSH is probably low - but your free T3 is much lower in range than your free T4. Everyone has slightly different hypo symptoms, but tiredness and constipation are very common.

Not what you're looking for?
