Hello, I’m curious to find out what people think of Medical Medium books by Anthony William?
I have purchased Thyroid Healing as it was available for £0.99 but I have now realised that the author isn’t a medical professional but gets his insights from Spirit...

I’ve just purchased the audio book, not sure yet, so much focus on Epstein Barr. I wouldn’t discount knowledge from spirit, I’m my experience it can be incredibly accurate. Also aware louise hay spoke of the thyroid representing blocked creativity, and self worth. Energy definitely manifests to create disease worth keeping an open mind
It is possible for any of us to take a trip around the internet - gather information from others and create a book by nailing thyroid issues to our chosen mast. EBV seems a reasonable cause - but one of many I would think.
Being a non-medical person should not be an issue - many docs have little understanding of the thyroid. The Thyroid is situated within the Throat Chakra - the area of communication - so being unable to have a voice could also be a cause ...
I would read other books to help you have a balanced view. I believe Gwyneth Paltrow talks about MM on her Goop website which has a huge following 😊
Good point that medical professionals don’t know much about the thyroid either 😊 I do believe that the emotions impact our body deeply and that thyroid is linked to communication and creativity, however I somehow feel uncomfortable reading MM book. I will persevere as I’m curious of it at the same time. I will check out Goop website too! X
I only mentioned the Goop website as something so trendy may influence many to follow ... we all have our favourites. I read Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield's book early on and still refer to it. I too would find MM's advice from the spirit world difficult ! I believe intuition can be powerful when you think someone may have a thyroid problem when you meet them but ....
I’ve got Dr Peatfield’s book but it’s mostly about hypothyroidism whereas my husband has got Graves. It is a great book though. I think I will take MM books with a pinch of salt. I might find something which is new and make sense but my gut feeling tells me there is something not right there...
Lots of good discussion in the links posted above by SeasideSusie 😊 I would stick with the members here for good information. It is how I found wellness and keep up to date !
Unfortunately most thyroid books are mainly about Hashimotos, as it's by far the most common thyroid disorder. Those of us who have more unusual conditions are always searching around for the very small mentions.
Yes, completely agree. Just found “Tired thyroid” by Barbara S. Lougheed so might give it a go. I will also look at Elaine Moore’s books. My husband’s endo is now putting pressure on him to either take RAI or have thyroidectomy so we need to keep educating ourselves. Really it should be him doing all the searching, not me!
I think at worst he's a charlatan, and at best, a fruitloop. That's not to decry everything he writes of course, because however misguided or daft any of us might be, we might nevertheless still grasp concepts and understand data - intellect and psychological good health not being mutually exclusive of course. But receiving instructions from the Spirits? Really ...... There are excellent trustworthy books and articles written by knowledgeable people, but he isn't one of the latter, to my mind.
You have to listen to audio really as he is allegedly an alien/spirit channelled by Esther Hicks. I found it helpful for depression and low mood, but I got the CDs for nothing from a friend. I think you can find Rampage Of Invincibility on Youtube, but it's been years since I looked.
The medical medium has so many books, it seems unlikely he could be an expert in all of these subjects... I like and trust Izabella Wentz, simply because she has the first hand experience as well as being open minded to alternatives.
Each to their own, but as soon as anyone says it's endorsed by Goop, I don't trust it. Goop have made some crazily false claims about their products in the past, and it makes me question everything else they do.
Here's the thing about his theory: 98% of people are exposed to EBV during their lifetime. You would think that 98% of people would have thyroid disease then. Alternatively, then nobody has any hope in the world. People without evidence of thyroid disease are doomed because everyone gets exposed.
My red light went off after reading that “even if your thyroid isn’t there because the virus damaged it so much that you had it surgically removed or killed off with radioactive iodine, it can still do its job”.
It’s amazing how many famous names have endorsed the book - Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert de Niro, Christiane Northrup etc. I guess they all must be part of Goop website.
Just because they're good actors, doesn't meant they're experts in anything except acting. I've know quite a few actors that were as nutty as a fruit cake, and had some really weird ideas. Their acting ability does endorse their theories in any way.
If you're interested in possible causes of Hash's, they are discussed in this article. Scroll down to 'Environmental (Exogenous) Factors':
The problem with relying on spirits for medical advice is that it assumes that dying makes people clever, knowledgeable and more up-to-date than live people.
Well, Edgar Cayce apparently got good results that way ... but I haven't seen anything said by the Medical Medium that you can't find elsewhere at no cost. However, I haven't examined his work in any detail.
I am in the middle of reading this book, some things so far have many similarities with things I have actually suffered, which no one else has ever revealed medically having a connection with the thyroid.... hate celery, one of his recommendations to have celery juice before anything else in the morning, managed four days on it, but really could not face it for a month! I will reserve judgement until I have finished the book though.
