My new saliva test: DHEA...................3.3 Range( 2-23mg/ml)
It’s expected due to my age !
Cortisol at 8 am.......................15.5 (high). (3.7-9.5 ng/ml
Cortisol at 11 am.......................2.7. (1.2-3.0 ng/ml)
Cortisol at 5 pm.........................1.5 ( 0.6–1.9 ng/ml)
Cortisol at 11pm.........................0.8 ( 0.4–1.0ng/ml)
All on upper range of normal!!!
I tried all adaptogens including Tulsi tea, astragalus root, for over 6 months, give up coffe, use only decafenated. Nothing helps
High RT3 also high =20.3 ( Range 3-24 .) Prior the test Was on NDT bovine Thyrovanz 100mg ,split 50 mg in the morning and second dose 50 mg at 3 pm . T3 25 mcg split dose 10 mcg in the morning , 10 mcg 3 pm and 9 pm 5 mcg.
All my thyroid parameters are very good , except RT3 which I mentioned earlier
4 weeks ago I start to notice very bad palpitations at rest and on slight exertion . Just crushed. Went to cardiologist . Got monitor to were. Was on cardiac monitoring for 2 weeks. Scary possible diagnosis: atrial fibrillation mix with ventricular bradycardia .
One night was H.R -155, after couple nights H.R.-37 . Crazy !!!
I told them, that I blame my Cortisol. So this is my story ... my choice was to reduce NDT.
Reduced NDT to only 50 mg at 11 am. Slowly ,during 10 days after reducing NDT my HR at rest 75-77. At regular walking is 90.
Any advice velcome!
Thank you ,
Esther

Thank you for respond , greygoose ! My wit D3 is -58 ( Range 25-100)
My Ferritin high: 190. Range ( 30-150)
VitB12 -1100 Range (300-900)
Folate also in Range .
My Iron panel also in range.
FreeT4 - Middle of the Range
FreeT3- 4.5. Range ( 1.8-4.4)
RT3 - 20.3. Range ( 8-24) by STTM book it’s considered high.
That is the reason, I reduced my NDT for 1/5 grain.
It looks to me,that I possibly not converting T4 to T3 properly due to my age .Regardless that, my genetic study didn’t say anything about this particular variants .
That looks high, but did you have your CRP tested at the same time? If you have high levels of inflammation, it will give you a false high ferritin.
VitB12 -1100 Range (300-900)
Are you supplementing B12?
Folate also in Range .
In-range is not the same as optimal. Do you have the actual numbers?
RT3 - 20.3. Range ( 8-24) by STTM book it’s considered high.
STTM is not a good reference. They are responsible for the present rT3 mania that has everybody so confused. rT3 is not the missing link that they suggest. It is inert and only stays in the body for a couple of hours before being converted to T2. And, it doesn't block T3 receptors, as they say, it has its own receptors.
If your FT4 is only mid-range, it's not high enough to be responsible for your rT3 level. Although, I don't consider your rT3 level to be high, it's not even at the top of the range. So, if you felt well on your dose of NDT, there was no reason to reduce it.
It looks to me,that I possibly not converting T4 to T3 properly due to my age .
How do you work that out? It's impossible to tell how well you are converting when you are taking T3. You would have to have your FT4 and FT3 tested at the same time, on T4 only, and compare them to know how well you convert. But, considering your FT3 is over-range, I don't see why you think you don't convert well. Besides, age has little to do with it - your not over 90, are you?
