First of all Bible 1000, I am very sorry you have terminal cancer and I note you take 50 mcg levo with 5mcg t3 at present and your dose is quite small which could be the cause of you not feeling you're improving.

I am not medically qualified and had undiagnosed hypothyroidism but am now well thanks to T3 only.

However, I think your doctor could, at the very least prescribe T3 alone for you.

Have you tried T3 alone?

I was similar to you in that I tried levo, NDTs, T3/T4 but found T3 alone suited me. Also too low a dose of thyroid hormones can rebound and make us feel more symptomatic. 20mcg of T3 is approx equal to about 60 to 80 mcg of T4 and it is stated that 25mcg of T3 is around 100 (in its effect on our body).

As stated above, I am not medically qualified but T3 alone might suit your body as I think (for myself) I was intolerant to T4 (cannot prove this of course) but I had severe palpitations, had to call an ambulance often, even when abroad which frightened my husband and always no reason could be found. The cardilogist was puzzled as I don't know how many monitors I had that he was considering putting something in heart to try to see what was really going on. By chance I took T3 only and immediately I had no palpitations and felt a bigam improvement and now on T3 only for about 4 years or more now and haven't looked back. I haven't seen the cardiologist since

I am not saying this method would work for you but there's no reason not to try. I don't take a high dose of T3 but people who are Thyroid Hormone Resistant have to. My dose of T3 is one 25mcg of T3 plus 1/4 tablet. Not too high but sufficient for me. If someone has Resistance they'd have to take much larger doses.

Regards.

Hi thank you so much my t3 was 2.7 t4 11 and tsh 37.7. Do you think all t3 is the same ingredient as I was on 10 MCG that the doctor gave me plus t4 I had started to feel a bit better. I've only tried this new one 2 days and feel awful I had it as I'm on a plant based diet with no gluten or sugar to help the cancer. I though being more pure may help me as I am not good with medication so less fillers? I could go back to the ,t3 the doctor gave me and take just 5 MCG first thing then the other 1/4 5 mcg at about .1and no t4 for A week c how I go the get a blood test. Just need reassurance as I am so fed up with it all. My cancer is hormonal which doesn't help. Thank you again I know your not medical just wanted advice. D x
