Article in the Telegraph yesterday

There is a guideline which requests that you let people know why they might wish to follow a link and what they will find there. If you do not add some explanation, some people will just go straight past and not look even though they might have been interested. Others will follow and look and then wonder why they wasted their time and bandwidth.
Please add a sentence to explain. Just having a few words in the subject line is not adequate.
14. If you post a link, please at least explain briefly what people can expect to find if they follow the link. Links without such an introduction/explanation may be deleted.
There was a healthy discussion here yesterday on this very topic 😊
Thanks. It's good that it's in the better newspapers....the point that they don't mention is why doesn't the NHS obtain a fair price for T3 and then maybe we wouldn't have this fight on.
Why is the big question - for many drugs, not just T3.
When i saw my MP a few years ago about T3 he explained the pharma industry works in a certain way. The industry set up shop in the UK bringing all its research and jobs and then a pricing structure is agreed on with the government.
This pricing structure is supposed to provide access on a wholesale basis to lots of drugs at a good cost. So this works with T4 for sure as it costs pennies.
However, there is something else going on and i am sure it is all part of this agreement, but i am not sure how. Is it to do with medicines outside of this agreement which can then be excempt from market pricing ? I am sure something like this is happening with T3.
Reading between the lines it seems the UK is paying a higher than market price for a lot of drugs in order to have the jobs and industry based in this country. It seems like a sort of state subsidy scheme to me.
