Not sure why you decided to Follow Me - as I have Hashimotos and an under-active thyroid.

I have read it has to be reduced slowly. Valarian has good knowledge and having tagged her she may be along soon to help. Do hope you feel better soon.

Did you have anti-bodies tested ?

You would normally be on Carbimazole for 12-18 months before trying for remission, if you have only taken it for 4 months it's to soon to come off it.

But t4 is already 0.89.so I am scared if i will have hypothyroidism?

Sorry I didn’t pick up on this earlier Caty0, for some reason I didn’t see Marz’s tag.

I’ve responded to another post of yours, but if you have Graves’ disease, as Bantam says, you can normally expect to remain on carbimazole for 12-18 months, during which the dose will be reduced gradually over time.

The aim is at this stage to keep production of thyroid hormone under control - given the nature of the disease, achieving optimum levels is great when it happens, but the main thing is to keep levels within range.

On that basis, it isn’t unusual to dip below range, and it’s usually sorted quite easily by reducing medication, but this really needs to be done with recent tests and under the guidance of your endo. There are people here who successfully adjust their own medication, but they’ve generally been pretty stable for quite a while.

I think there is a question as to whether you have Graves’ or not, but I’ve mentioned this in a response to your other post.
