Hemithyroidectomy

Hi there

I am due to have a hemithyroidectomy next week and as the day gets closer i am feeling more scared and nervous. Has anyone had this surgery that could give me some tips/advice on how to calm my nerves and how I will feel post surgery. Many thanks.

I’m sure there are people on here who have been through this and will respond and if you search the site for ‘Hemithyroidectomy’ I’m sure lots of old posts will come up and you could private message some of the posters. I just wanted to say good luck and send you loads of love and hugs. You are certain to be nervous - I know I would be, but in a week or so it’ll all be over and you will have taken a big step towards your recovery. Be nice to yourself - lots of treats -you deserve it. You will get through this and come out the other side and soon you’ll be on this site advising and supporting others by telling them about your experience. Sending lots of positive thoughts. xxx 😀
