High end normal free t4 and high heart rate

Hello

My free T4 levels are high end normal at 18 (range high end 19). Free t3 is at

Midpoint.

Since t4 went up 2 months ago I have been loosing weight and recently high heart rate. Heart checked by cardiologist and all good. He said it’s anxiety. Thyroid levels same.

Could T4 alone be the cause of high heart rate?

Could be because your FT3 is too low for you.

Thanks I never considered that. My free T3 is 3.8 (range 3.1-6). My endo says that my heart rate would increase if free T3 is high end.

So you don't think that high end T4 has anything to do with it?

Not really, no. There is no proof that I know of that T4 is anything but a storage hormone. The heart needs T3. Your FT3 certainly is low, so not surprising if you have symptoms.

That is so interesting.. my endo says it’s fine. Any tips to

Get it up naturally?

Depends on your definition of 'natural'. But, the only thing that can replace a hormone is a hormone.

You have a conversion problem, and cannot convert the T4 (levo) to T3 'naturally'. Quite why you have this problem will be difficult to ascertain. It could be nutritional deficiencies - have you had your vit D, vit B12, folate, ferritin tested? Have you tried taking selenium? It could be you're not ingesting enough calories - are you on a low-calorie diet? Or it could be low/high cortisol, or many other things. But, if you can't improve your conversion - and many, many cannot - then the only course left is to reduce your levo slightly, and add in some T3. You could call that 'natural', because synthetic T3 exactly imitates the T3 your thyroid would make if it could. But, there's no magic wand you can wave, or miracle supplement you can take, I'm afraid.

Thanks

For all

Your suggestions! I have had all these hormones and vitamins including cortisol tested in past few weeks and all is in check. I am however on no

Gluten and dairy. I have lost weight. I am not on any thyroid hormone at all. They don’t offer T3 in canada.

I am wondering if my diet is it ... as well as selenium.

You have been so helpful. Thank you!

Unless you have nutritional deficiencies, I don't think your diet is to blame. It's not easy to find the cause of poor conversion, I'm afraid.

T3 levels..

I live in Canada and get my Free T3 tested. You have to ask your doctor for it or they may never test it.

So do I and it seems they only will test t3 if you are hyper. Friends that are hypo don’t get it tested

I am hypo and I get my T3 tested, but I have to ask. Are you looking to take desiccated thyroid? It contains T4 and T3. I take desiccated thyroid from Erfa.

No I have cured my thyroid and no longer on any meds. Stopped last August. Diet changed my whole system.

Congratulations. I too, am reversing disease by eliminating refined sugar, soy, gluten, dairy. It's working. No meds. I was severe hypothyroid, heart problems arrhythmias. I'm 37.

Congrats! Most don’t believe that it works. I read Amy Myers and her book convinced me.

Exactly! It just takes discipline, determination and confidence, I kept doubting it and having a defeatist attitude, this of course procrastinated any hope of healing.

I'm a HUGE fan of Dr Eric Berg ( youtube ) Dr Izabella Wentz

( google her for recipes ) and Dr Ken Berry.

I was very dubious of anyone promoting and endorsing the KETO diet, but I learned KETO works, if it's personalized to suit the needs of the individual. My KETO is one meal every 24 hours and DRY fasting with water or chicory coffee, adding some licorice root and ginger. Absolutely delicious, I now have a good conversion rate, no metabolic issues a steady heart rate and normal sinus rhythm, good riddance to intracranial pains, GERD, and DYSTONIA. Being in ketosis really works, using our fat reserves, it restores normal healthy function of cells.

I will certainly see what Amy Myers has to say.

Thanks.

Oh and i've said goodbye to inflammation, ulcers, tumours and tightness in the throat, all the rubbish I ate would attack my thyroid, raise insulin and block absorption to my liver.

Those people I mentioned definitely inspire others with autoimmune diseases. They have completely transformed my life and energy.

NO MORE brain fog, fibromyalgia, dry eyes, mood swings, irritability, depression, itchy dry skin, hot flushes, cracking joints, dry extremities, dry nasal cavities, candida, thrush.

I also take high strength 100ml CBD oil, 10,000mcg, certified and lab tested, which helps tremendously.

You are the first person I have met who also had had success with the same approach.. I do follow Wentz and will look up Ford.

I have recently started adding back non lactose cheese. Generally, they say that HYPER isn't affected by dairy, but I did it anyway. I will say that sugar does affect me but its hard to stick to!

I live in Canada and have had very little support here as far as DR's go. It was my Endo who said my thyroid was going to "come out" and I told him it wasn't and searched for my own solution.

Lets stay in touch!

Can you add the actual results and ranges on vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12?

Frequently these may be within range, but they need to be optimal for good conversion
