I have been using Nature Throid since July 2018 and, although I did well at the start, with my body suddenly getting the T3 it so desperately needed, things have started to go downhill with symptoms returning.
I am currently on 4 grains and do not believe that increasing the dose is the answer.
I also came across some interesting information on STTM website about Naturethroid which had its compound changed back in the summer of 2017:
"a large body of patients who have found that the 'new' Naturethroid (in the same amount that once removed their hypothyroidism) has left them with major hypothyroid symptoms, plus a free T3 and T4 very low in the range and a high TSH. Some report that raising did hardly a thing for them. There are a very few who reported feeling fine.... but, we notice that the longer someone is on the new Naturethroid, the more the hypo symptoms creep up."
My recent blood test back in September revealed a high TSH and low T4 and T3.
I am thinking of trying the Thiroyd from Thailand. Unfortunately, I cannot have the Thyroid-S due to the colours used, road runner would have nothing on me if I took this.
Questions:
If I were to purchase Thiroyd, would I need to start again from scratch i.e working up from ½ - ¼ grain or just carrying on with current dose of 4 grains?
Has anyone else tried Thiroyd with success?
Any comments / advice would be gratefully appreciate.
I haven't used Thiroyd from Thailand, but have been on several different NDT brands. I didn't start from scratch with the changes. I simply took the same dose without problems. I can't see the point of starting from ground zero.
I'm on Thyroid S but I did a lot of research before that and found many people could take Thyroid S but not Thiroyd and vice versa. Can't remember now why I decided Thyroid S but I started very well on it. I wasconcerned re the number of fillersthough so thought I would try Thiroyd. My digging earlier had found some could take both so I gave it a go-disaster! My headaches were so severe I stopped after two days without trying to find out why as I had a good alternative. May be taking less may have worked-I don't know but my findingsdid say itctended to be an either or. Not apositive reply but just to say be aware as that can happen.
I was taking Thyroid-S, it worked fine for years, then suddenly stopped working. I'm now taking Metavive and doing well again. And comes from the UK which is a bonus.
Thank you for the info on Nature Throid. I moved to this when WP went, and kept to the same dose (two and a half grain) and was OK. Then earlier this year I began to go downhill and raised the dose to 3 grain, but just got worse and worse. Tests showed I was way underdosed and I could not understand why. Then I began to see others here were in the same boat. I have moved to Thyroid S as it was the first I came across, and am slowly getting better. I took 3 grains to begin with, and am now on 2 and a half / 3 alternate days.
I would start on a slightly higher dose than you were taking originally and then drop to the original dose and see how you go. So a sort of loading dose for a few days and then drop to what you know you were fine on before, if that makes sense.
Two good things about the stuff from Thailand is that it is a lot cheaper and I did not get asked to pay tax - something that always peed me off!
Good luck with finding your health again - it should not be this difficult, should it! Let us know how it goes.
Thank you for your response and the Good Luck wishes.
I agree, it should not be this difficult. I will look into ordering one of the Thailand Thyroid products and, will definitely let the forum know how I get on.
