Genova say about this test

gdx.net/uk/product/urine-th...

It is important to use this test as an adjunct to other indicators of thyroid function, such as body temperature, symptomology and standard blood thyroid tests.

So it's not suggested that a urine thyroid test alone be used for diagnosing a thyroid condition. And getting a doctor to accept a urine test would probably be difficult.

I've used this test a couple of times. The first time when I had very good levels of ft4 and ft3 according to blood test results but I still felt very ill. The urine test revealed I was utilising very little of the ft3 that was available (I take T3 as I do not convert T4 well). I was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency by Dr P so came off T3 for a while, started on adrenal support and then re-introduced T3. A little while later I took the urine test again and my T3 utilisation was near the top end and coincided with a slow recovery in health.

I know some people dont think its an accurate test but Dr P thought it was very useful as blood tests don't reveal all factors that need to be considered.
