Thyroid Medication and Calcium ?

Hello,

I know that you should space Calcium Supplements 4 hours from Thyroid Medication.

But what if I eat breakfast 1 hour after taking my thyroid meds and obviously getting indirect calcium from natural foods that could add up ?

Lets say my breakfast adds up to 250mg calcium from indirect sources/foods and no dairy/milk products ( oats, eggs etc )will it still affect absorption or am I safe 1 hour after breakfast ?

thanks

I would tend to leave it nearer two hours but if you always leave the same amount of time and eat the same things it should be fine.

That's possibly why research suggests it may be better to take Levothyroxine at bedtime

Why do you think these patients notice an improvement when switching?

Is this medication magically better than Levothyroxine or Synthroid?

No, it's a matter of absorption and in the GI tract of the thyroid hormone and a reduced risk of negative reactions to the fillers.

And much of this change has to do with the ingredient list (including both active and inactive).
