Hi everyone, I take my 100mcg levothyroxine early in the morning at least 1 hour before breakfast. I wanted to do liver and kidney function tests through blood test. Will taking 100mcg levothyroxine have any effect on liver and kidney lab results? Thanks

I have to have regular liver function tests. What I do, because I sometimes have a thyroid function test at the same time, is keep everything simple. For all tests I book my appointment as early as possible, I delay breakfast until after the blood draw and drink water only, so in effect that is classed as fasting overnight. I also leave my thyroid meds until after the blood draw for all tests. This way all tests are always done under the same conditions and nothing affects the results.

Here is one article which mentions fasting before a liver function test (in case you didn't know that you should - I've asked at my surgery and was told it wasn't necessary, not the first time I've been given duff information!)
