I switched from Eltroxin to Ndt on 1 Oct. I was taking 100mg of Eltroxin. The specialist told me to start at 30mg of Ndt and go up to 60 mg within 6 weeks then get bloods done and go back and see him. Not doing good at all. I started at 30mg for a week then 45mg for a week and started 60mg on Monday 15th. My gp has said to get up to my equivalent dose of Eltroxin as as soon as possible. What do I do?
Any advice appreciated. Feeling very lost.
Thanks

I'm assuming at 30 is half a grain. But from my experience that's a rapid increase as remember you also have a store of T4 in your body. I went up similar amounts but tried to hold each one for two weeks. Then go cautiously in quarters till on the right dose for me then retest afterc6 weeks to see if my Lela were correct. My sweet spot turned to be 1.74 so I sailed passed that aswasstill increasing in halves! Thankfully I have already book an Endo appointment to check I was doing it right so my levels were about the range so he put me on 1.75 and that was correct! But I also found out that being overly active or under active can feel very similar
Hi TinyC. I use NDT and am very happy with it. I was advised to start on .5 of a tablet and increase it every 3 weeks by .5 of a tablet. It worked well for me...but I was advised to also get my vitamin and mineral levels correct prior to going on to NDT so I now take, Magnesium, HCL, vitamin B complex, vitamin C and D. I did a private blood test to check all my levels. The result is I feel better than I have done for years. Feel free to PM me if you require further details.
