Has anyone else had experience of a really painful foot, painful ball of foot and on the top of the foot close to toes with burning sensation in toes mainly underneath? My foot swells quite easily, I’ve bought wider shoes to compensate but wondered if this is related to thyroid issues?

Pain in ball of foot with burning sensation in toes
check out Morton's neuroma on Google. Wider shoes do help, they stop the nerves from being squashed.
Thanks, I’ve had a read and symptoms are similar. No end of checking on google returned your response so appreciate your help.
I eventually saw a very good NHS podiatrist who prescribed some orthotics which also helped. At the end of the day you have to give up on high heels! I can wear them for an hour max, and wear walking boots quite often or shoes with a low square heel! At my age I no longer care, I just want to be comfortable when I walk.
Does sound like Morton’s Neuroma. I have been suffering for years and had surgery last week to remove it. I feel your pain. I found wearing Fit Flops the most comfortable to wear, check out their website, they do shoes and trainers.
Ask your doctor for a ultrasound to check.
Hi
Yes I had the same and had a foot scan and was told it was bursitis which is inflammation. They said they can inject the foot but I didn’t as I heard this often doesn’t work. They also gave me steroids which may have worked but I still have numbness in my toes upon repititive foot action. Is this what you mean? I was told it can be related to your spine and am waiting To see neurology. Hope you get it sorted.
You could check your B12 status as I have come across this on the B12d forums, along with iots of other symptoms.
Thanks all for your comments, I am sitting waiting to see a specialist as I type, let’s see what he comes up with !
Got to have an MRI but thinks it’s inflamed nerves, mentioned Morton’s and could easily pin point the pain. Thanks again for all your help!
