Is there such a thing as a consultant or similar that is an expert in thyroid and other related hormones. I find GP's don't even understand the results properly and my surgeon has cancer suppression priorities leaving him with only changing the Levothyroxine dose help.

Yes, there are specialists called endocrinologists but many members here know much, much more. Endocrinologists are trained mostly in diabetes and with a few exceptions, know very little about how to treat thyroid patients in what is a very complicated subject. They believe emphatically in Levothyroxine and rarely look beyond the 'little white pill' and the TSH blood test. You have come to the right place. There is fascinating info here. You will soon know more than your GP.

I've had no success with endos. For everyone who thinks they know about diabetes, they don't.
