I am going for a breast screening test today

Wondered did my neck need to be covered for it as had heard it should be for dental x rays?

I never go anyway. However the my dentist uses one but I have to

request it and I go private.

No, sorry I didn't make myself clear. Since my twenties I have always had a private dentist. They always provide me with an thyroid guard if taking Xrays. An NHS one should provide this for free ask when making the appointment.
