Not sure if this is thyroid related but I have increased swelling on the whole left side of the body from my under arm to my ankle . My left arm is actually fatter compared to my right and its uncomfortable to wear a bra as there is a bulge of fat but not a lump where my armpit joins my chest if you see what i mean. If I touch my inner upper arm it sends a pain down it and causes pins and needles in my fingers . I worried sick as its getting worse and I did a little research and saw it could be lymphatic or something to do with the immune system ?? I have hypothyroidism and hashimotos disease by the way. Im currently taking 3 x 30mg armour and im practically gluten free and dairy free i eat healthy and take numerous vitamins . Any advice or info would be grateful as my GP in UK cant fit me in for an appointment for another week and I think il go crazy with worry by then . Much appreciated

I would be inclined to phone NHS 111 and discuss. They can offer a telephone assessment and advise furthur. They can organise an out of hours appointment with a doctor if they feel nessasary or sometimes you do not need to be seen but can have a chat with a nurse or doctor over the phone. It should either put your mind at rest or get you seen sooner.
Thankyou for your advice i called the GP and got an emergency appointment literally 30 mins ago and she suspects a T.I.A . I personally think its not as iv had one previously and symptoms were definitely different and the numbness and pins and needles doesn't ease up . She has organised a chest x ray and ultra sound and didnt seem in the least concerned. How ever after reading about lymphoma im obviously concerned. Now I have to play the waiting game until tests are taken . Thanks for the advice greatly appreciated
TIA are transitory that what the T means so they tend to pass with out lasting effects.
Thankyou and yes that was exactly my point as my numbness and pins and needles are there constantly and they dont go away . It seems a wasted appointment as I'm no nearer finding a cause and now being steered in wrong direction by gp
Not really but my gp has arranged an appointment at the T.I.A clinic on Wednesday i assume to eliminate a stroke as I had one in 2016 when the surgery withdrew my levo as they had lost my medical records . I feel its more a nervous system problem and have now started feeling dizzy and sort of "out of body " its hard to explain but its basically like watching myself on tv its a frightening feeling i can see people talking next to me but its as if im watching from a tv or from a distance . Im super nervous of it being something sinister most things i can put down to hypo symptoms but this is alien to me and seems unrelated to a thyroid issue . Hoping im wrong but il update you as soon as i know more . I also query M.S due to the muscle spasms and numbness .
Hi Jodie. I had similar symptoms re leaving my body and feeling very weird, distant from people.I was quite confused as well with my head swimming.I fell over several times.I had funny breathing as well, needing to take little gasps. With me it was low thyroid hormones and I needed to start taking some NDT.I am on a lot of thyroid hormones now. How is your pulse and temp. The effects of the brain and nervous system of thyrod issues are numerous and often not recognised. Maybe post your bloods. I hope things go well today.
