Well woman vitamins

I had my thyroid gland removed over 20 years ago, I’ve been taking well woman vitamins for a few months but after reading some reports I’m unsure if I should be taking them or not. Also it recommended to take the vitamin a few hours after the thyroxine, I’ve been taking them at the sane time. Does anyone have any advice/info that may help?

Levo should be taken on it's own, at least 2 hours away from any other medication or supplements (some need 4 hours eg Vit D, magnesium, iron).

Assuming your Well Woman vitamin is a multivitamin, then these generally are a waste of time and money. They tend to contain too little of anything to help, often contain the cheapest, least absorbable and wrong form of ingredients. If they contain calcium or iodine (kelp) then these need to be tested before supplementing. If they contain iron then that affects the absorption of everything else.

It's best to test vitamins and minerals, find out any low levels or deficiencies, then supplement accordingly.

Always advised here are

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin
