FYI: one of the "alternative" practitioners in my area, Ian Hollaman D.C. of redtailhealth.com, sent out an email recently which said this (approximately): "I have never had a person in my practice, with Hashimoto's/hypothyroid, who does not have some degree of gluten sensitivity."

Thanks for this. Whether it is gluten, or FODMAPs, the researchers don't really have a handle on what OTHER changes people with gluten sensitivity, make to their diets. And, the article said nothing about the effects of wheat hybridization (dwarf wheat) and the pollution of wheat flour with agricultural chemicals like glyphosate.
It's what can be called an "inconvenient truth". About seven years ago, I read it in a book. Can't remember the title exactly, but it was something about having thyroid symptoms when test say you are fine. I shut the book and stopped reading. It was asking me to give up gluten and dairy!
I have been gluten and dairy free for nearly two years now with a few slips along the way. The gluten free version of myself is amazing. When I relapsed, I regretted it tremendously. My body would get a rest from the onslaught of gluten and dairy. Then have major reacts when I eat the foods again. Now, after the last two relapses, you couldn't pay me to eat them. I am done.
