i have been on sertraline for a month now and was doing brilliant
collected my repeat and the brand was changed (i hate when they do that)
took first tablet saturday and my heart rate increased, felt sick and jittery
didnt want to stop them so took half on sunday still wasnt right
called dr yesterday and explained what had happened and gave him the brand i was on at first and he has now put that brand on my repeat but told me to continue with the half until tomorrow when it will be ready for collection

Unfortunately, with generics now, doctors don't have to put the brand of generic on the prescription. This means that the pharmacy can dispense whichever brand they have in stock. They can order whichever brand is cheapest and this may not be the brand you feel best on.
Doctors can, if the patient has a special need, write a prescription for a branded product rather than a generic so GPs should be able to write a brand of generic on the prescription for the same reason.
I'm glad to hear that your GP has done this but I suspect not all doctors will do so.
