Brands of medication

Hi I wonder if anyone can give me some information. I have taken activas since my diagnosis. I do not want to change brands. I have it written on my repeat Perscription activas brand only. I have just looked and they have given me Northstar ? Is this a new name for Actavis?

Yes they're Actavis ~ if you look inside the box the foil and the pil leaflet will say so..... happened to me last year. x

More usefully if checking in the pharmacy, it says Actavis on the outer box (think it is the lower side).

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I am one of the lucky ones as I do not suffer half the symptoms that some people on here do. Obviously I do not want that to change because someone is messing my brand about. Thank you

I have just looked on box and the information I needed on the box was covered by the pharmists sticker. Thank you

If in doubt, you can always check the text on foil back of the actual blister pack, and/or PIL inside the box :)

I have Actavis and the box says Northstar, they are the same : )

Northstar is only the distributor, Actavis is the manufacturer.

It's always best to check what's actually inside the box because there's no guarantee as to which brand a distributor might be putting in their boxes. This also applies to the boxes distributed by Boots, which are called Almus. Usually it's Actavis inside, but always best to check. :)
