I was wondering if anyone on this board has had a problem with using these two together. I have been hypo and on levothyroxine (125 mcg) for almost 20 years never felt well. I was prescribed Wellbutrin for depression helped but still fatigued. Dr raised dosage still fatigued. I recently changed over to Thyrogold 150mg feel great except for a raised heart rate. It’s such a low dose I’m surprised it’s raising my heart rate but it kind of comes in bursts, not a constant high heart rate. I know adrenal fatigue (tested waiting on results) and low ferritin can cause these things too. I had blood work done last month everything good except ferritin was in range but only 31.7. I’m just wondering if when the dr raised my Wellbutrin but I didn’t really need it and it is now too much for me now that I’m on Thyrogold or is it just too much. The reason I ask is that on Wellbutrin xl it releases in your body in little bursts (according to a dr) of the active ingredient and I wonder if that could explain the inconsistency of my heart rate. I hope I have explained it well enough. Thank you for any insight you can give on this.

Wellbutrin xl and Thyrogold
Missy1968, I have been on thyroid replacement since the mid 1990's and went on to prozac in the late 1990's. With each prozac adjustment (in either direction) I had to raise my thyroid medication up. After a lot of research I found that any and ALL Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) which includes prozac, lexapro and many others directly effect the thyroid and its function. The short version is that I probably could have only been only taking about 25mcg instead I am taking 137mcg due to the SSRIs. A lot of it is directly due to the various SSRIs. I continued to research and found no relation to Wellbutrin and thyroid medication. I asked about 3 or four of my different doctors (endos, primary, etc) and none knew of any connections. So I switched over to Wellbutrin and no adjustments to my thyroid medication was needed. I have been on it for about one year now and am real happy. Feel free to ask more details
Thank you so much for your reply. That is good to know about Wellbutrin. I actually got my adrenal saliva test results back today and found I have some cortisol issues and that is probably at the root of my high heart rate and heart palpitations. So I have a direction to go in now. Thanks again for your response.
