I've recently been told my thyroid levels are low, I cant remember exactly what my levels were, I was a bit overwhelmed when my GP was telling me everything my blood test had come back saying, that I didn't think to ask what my levels were.
He wanted to start me on medication, as he thought it would be a good idea to get the ball rolling, although i cant say i ever had any symptoms of an underactive thyroid, other than now since I've starting taking Levothyroxine, i feel so tired all the time, and more headaches, has anyone lese experienced this?
Im also selfishly worried I will put on weight whilst on these tablets, im currently a healthy weight for my age (29) and 9st 10lb , but after reading the reviews of these tablets on line, almost everyone says they gained weight. is this true?
Any information will be gratefully received

You need to know your blood results. That will tell you if you need to be on Levothyroxin or not. They should be able to give you these over the phone.
I was diagnosed eleven months ago and since diagnosis and starting Levothyroxine I have lost a stone in weight without trying at all. I've never been overweight but had put on about a stone during the last ten years which I attributed to ageing. Now I think it was down to being hypo. Hypothyroidism causes your metabolism to slow down; hence the weight gain.
As to your blood test results, it would be a very good idea to get a copy from your surgery and post them. There are lots of knowledgeable people on the forum who will be able to advise you. When you post the results, remember to include the ranges which will appear in brackets and look something like this.
It's very often the case that you only find bad reviews about something online. Do you write good reviews of things you use?
I was diagnosed hypothyroid 43 years ago after a long struggle with awful symptoms and an ignorant doctor. After I started Levo and gradually started to feel better, the weight that I had gained over 2 years came off without me trying and I was back to my normal weight. There was no internet then, but I wouldn't have put a review on to say that Levo made me lose weight, it wasn't the Levo it was getting my Hypothyroidism diagnosed and treated. Some people may put weight on with Levo, but it could be that brand doesn't suit them, or they're not on the correct dose, or even that they magically expect it to be a weight loss aid and are not eating correctly anyway.
What brand of Levo have you been given? If it's TEVA then hundreds, if not thousands, of people have had bad reactions to it. You could always ask for a different brand and see if that suits you better. They all have different fillers, it may be a case of finding the right brand for you.
