Homocysteine is often raised when B12 is low in the cells - am sure you already know that - just posting for others :-)

No,I didn't.Thank you for the info.I have stopped all B12 supplementation prior to testing.Had been supplementing for awhile.

You need to have stopped B12 for months prior to testing. If you go ahead and test your results will be skewed - so take that into consideration ... This was covered in your post on the PAS Forum two years ago 😊

yes,at the time I didn't feel like stopping.I've now stopped & been advised on here how long to wait before testing.6 weeks so far...

Stopping for six weeks will still show skewed B12 results ! Why stop ? - if it has been helpful with symptoms then personally I wouldn't risk it ... An wondering what you hope to achieve. It is clearly mentioned in the Guidelines that the clinical symptoms should be observed over and above the bloodtest result.

The above link takes you to the Guidelines your GP should follow. No 1 recommendation is to look at Clinical symptoms ...

Later on in the above link it mentions about supplementing and testing ...

Maybe download and highlight the relevant bits for your GP :-)

I actually had one done, many years ago, by my GP. I was seeing Dr Myhill at the time and she wrote to my GP asking to give me B12 injections, magnesium injections due to a deficiency shown when tested, and to test homocysteine (because of dreadful family history of heart disease). Much to my great surprise my GP agreed to the homocysteine test but she did refuse the B12 and magnesium injections.
