Dropping down dead

Do you get like breathless and a feeling like you will drop down dead? I know it’s probably anxiety but it’s horrible. I constant feel like I will have a heart attack and die.

How are your TSH, FT4 and FT3 levels? Let's see if you are optimally medicated for a start.

And if your breathlessness makes you feel like that, have you seen your GP and asked for investigations?

A simple spirometry test done at the surgery would be a good start.

Haven’t had tests in about 6-8 months but my last were T4 25 (10-25) tsh 0.01 (0.30-3.30) I’ll see about getting new blood done but my gp surgery likes to only test annually, I have hashi and I’m on 150mcg

You need vitamin D, ferritin, folate and B12 tested too

Low iron or ferritin can be cause of breathlessness

Low vitamins are common if under medicated

Low vitamins common if cause of hypothyroidism is due to autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto', diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

You have great advice given. Especially regarding breathless which is often one of the symptoms of anaemia.

I would just like to add, when I had my health crises and found my GP to be dismissive of my 'knowing' my thyroid was struggling, I did not know which way to turn. Where to get help. Thus, the stress of being very unwell and not getting listened to (I did eventually get a proper diagnosis in London hospital Thor th my own efforts), my anxiety levels spiralling, I booked to see Dr Peatfield.

Dr Peatfield immediately diagnosed me (and I had test for), adrenal insufficiency as well as autoimmune thyroiditis.

I started taking the supplement advised to help my adrenals recover. That awful feeling that I was just going to drop down dead never returned once my adrenals recovered.

I wish you all the best. It was an awful experience I won't forget it.
