I have breathing problems, and I thought it was my lungs. Lungs xray came back normal.

Dyspnea due to Thyroid
I had this just before I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism it was very worrying it’s what made me go to the drs,
Possibly cardiovascular due to wonky thyroid and bad nutrient absorption. Must get Vit D and Iron checked as deficiencies in these can literally leave you gasping.
Thank you, I will do that.
I get breathlessness due to my thyroid swelling up and down and also very dire iron deficiency, trembling , palps, shortness of breath, but it is a common complaint with being hypo or hyper, also thyroid nodules, good luck🌟🌟
Yes, I get those symptoms. It is indeed sad. Any idea how long it takes for the symptoms to go away after the test shows that thyroid hormones are all normal now?
Sometimes it dies not matter if your levels are within range, you have to find that optimol level that suits you, not anywhere in the range will do!! At the moment yiy need to concentrate on getting all your vitamins and minerals optimol as this affects thyroid function, my symptoms do come and go still depending on my levels, at the moment my ft4 is not high enough, so I am symptomatic plus my iron level is rubbish, I have a problem with raising it, its been a year on for me and still not back at work, like you I've had every test under the sun, lungs, asthma, stomach etc all clear, sadly down to the thyroid, having graves and hashi🌟 keep fighting
Nac could help if you are coughing up mucus or have sinus issues. I tried it for a short while for this and it may be good if you have had a nasty cough but I suspect it may deplete some Minerals and B vitamins so is not a longer term solution.
These days I seem to get very few respiratory symptoms after improvement in Minerals like Selenium, Zinc, Iron and Magnesium. I also have Omega 3 and Vitamin C.
I am taking multi-vitamins called megawoman that the doctor recommended.
Is this a functional doctor or nutritionist, or just a regular GP? Most GPs know very little about nutrition. I'm not a fan of multi-vits that are a very generic scatter-gun approach to health - you need a more targeted approach when you have thyroid issues. Look at Seaside Susie's posts about vitamins that help thyroid. Also check these links out.. as I noticed that your doctor is currently giving you PPI's (?) Unless you have actual damage to the stomach lining due to radiation/ chemo or some other drugs and require a short course of these. Forgive me, if I'm sounding pessimistic, but it's very possible your doctor is assuming you have too much stomach acid when it may be acid reflux which can be due to LOW stomach acid (see links). GPs are often prescribing these drugs far too freely, because the short-term effects are to reduce symptoms a bit - but then you end up depending on them with lots of deficiencies as stomach acid is vital to absorb nutrients. I know from experience.

Thank you. What is PPI? In my country, there is no endocrinologist. I spoke to a friend that is a nutrisionist and she listed a few veggies and fruits to me that I should eat.
Proton Pump Inhibitors are designed to help treat damaged inflamed gullet (oesphagus) due to acid burns from stomach acid. This problem can occur if you have an ulcer or drugs or treatments that cause physical damage to the stomach. Therefore, doctors prescribe them as a quick fix as PPI's suppress acid production.
Also, if you have had these problems the doctor's job is to find the cause, especially if it's a stomach ulcer. An endoscopy is usually required.
I am not taking PPI.
Omeprazole is a PPI. Your first post here mentions that you are or were taking it.
I only took it for a week. It wasn't really helping. Then I found out wasn't actually acid reflux but thyroid.
Ok, good, so that is not long enough to become reliant on it and your doc has ruled out an ulcer I hope. The Dr Myhill links should be useful anyway. Here's another which may help you understand your breathing issues and possible causes.
