Croatia and Hvar are prescription only. I just returned from Split, Tisno and Hvar on Wednesday.

All levothyroxine and liothyronine products are Prescription-only Medicines (POM) in Malta.

That is horrific for thyroid patients. My heart goes out to the citizens of those countries

It’s available on Hungarian prescription more so in the Buda side of the bridge in Budapest. There’s a lady I’ve heard that sends from Bulgaria, although she’s supposedly trust worthy, it gets lost more often than not in the post en route to the airport.

Tisno, Croatia is prescription only. I came back from there last week. I tried 9 chemists Bear Split, Tisno and both in Hvar.

Greek T3 in Bulgaria.

I was at a tourist location for a music festival. But the lady at the nearest chemist last year said it’s orderable. It was in the same section last week as it was last year, next to the T4 but said she it’s not popular when the festivals have finished so they don’t stock it. T4 was available but both with prescription. Possibly because it was so touristy.

In my home country they have no T3 and most endos have no idea, how to treat with it. My friend wanted to try combination therapy after her thyroidectomy, cause she was feeling awful on Levo. The doc had to fill out extensive paperwork to have the medication imported for her.

There are so many sufferers there, it just breaks my heart every time I read their stories on the FB community page. Even worse to see how they still so firmly believe that their docs are helping them, despite them feeing awful for years. Levo and TSH, nothing else. Diet changes? No, diet has nothing to do with autoimmune response etc.

I try to explain things but they are so afraid to try anything else. I sometimes ask, what have you got to lose when you’ve been feeling rubbish for years? Very frustrating.

I think that most of us are doomed where ever we are. It doesn't make much of a difference if we even live in a country where T3 is available like UK or USA if we can't get it. I mean if we can't get it prescribed and if we can't afford to pay first to get private prescription and later to pay astronomic prices of T3 in UK (in US as well as I heard) we are in exactly the same position as those who live in countries that don't have T3 at all. We have to either order it online or like me, found someone who will send it to us. I am Cypriot Greek for example but I moved to England when I was a 10. My father has some family in Greece so they are sending me T3. So I guess most of us aren't in better position than somebody in Romania, Croatia and so on.
