It's really hard to view these results Annie, or maybe it's my eyes?
Hi it is hard to read but if it says 6.74 and top of normal range is 5 then personally I wouldn't be concerned at all. It's just marginally up and wouldn't indicate a problem.
Hi Anniewoz. It is hard to judge if you are getting there with out seeing previous results and knowing ,more importantly than, blood results, your current symptoms and if you can take it your pulse. If I had those blood resultsand still had symptoms then I would think a small increase appropritate. I dont know much about CRP but imagine if it is an inflamation maker it could respond toallsorts of stimulie and I wouldonly be concerned if it was high for a long time for reason I was not aware of.
If what I am looking at is TSH 2.94(0.27-4.2), FT4 about 14 (12-22) and FT3 4.15 (3.1-6.8), then you need to be on a higher dose of medication. You are aiming for a TSH of 1 or below and FT3 and FT4 in the top half of the ranges. Ferritin looks like 100 (13-150), Active B12 looks like 75 (25-145) and Vit D 71 (50-200), Folate 17 (2-50). CRP just over range.
If this helps anyone else to comment, or for you to correct my reading of the results, then please feel free.
I personally feel better with slightly higher Vitamin D level.
Same here. I’d want my Vit D and B12 a bit nearer the top of their ranges and probably folate too. I would prefer my CRP to be lower because I think (not medically qualified - it’s just what I think) it is a marker for inflammation within the body and as I have a load of autoimmune disorders I want to keep my autoimmune system / inflammation dampened down which is the reason I went totally GF a few years ago.
Do you suffer from hay fever( it can raise CRP a bit)?
Not a hay fever sufferer, could it be arthritis do you think 🤔
Yes, it could be arthritis. Do you have arthritis?
Hi fruitandnutcase
Yes I do have arthritis
Quite severe in hands and over the past 12 months, my neck has become quite painful.
Also suspected carpal tunnel
I’ve had sessions with a physio, sort of helped for a while, now my neck feels swollen and increasingly painful
I’ve Ve tried acupuncture, hot stones, massage even cupping, hardly any relief
I get neck and shoulder pain when I’m on Levothyroxine only, I was amazed at how relaxed my neck and shoulders are now I take T3 as well.
Have you seen a rheumatologist? I was lucky enough to be referred a couple of years ago. I’ve got zero negative inflammatory arthritis and one rheumy I saw thought I was possibly developing Sjorgens although I’m not sure on that.
I take hydroxychloriquine which generally keeps the pain and stiffness at bay but judging from the people I know with arthritis I’m very lucky to have been referred.
I’ve also got nice lightweight splints that I wear at night because from time to time I waken up with pins and needles in my hands. I used to get lot of upper back and neck pain - what I imagine was fibromyalgia - but a three month tapering off course of steroids followed by the hydroxychlorquine sorted it all out and even if my fingers get a bit creaky every now and again the neck / deep muscle aches have gone thank goodness.
Thanks for your reply fruitandnutcase
Great to hear your treatment is keeping aches and pains at bay.
I do have a nighttime splint which helps with the pins & needles, to be honest, I could cope with the aches in my hands ...... but my neck is just so painful !
Hey ho, I’ll see what the go has to say next week !
Hope you get a result. If it’s any help my neck and shoulder pain felt like a deep muscular toothache rather than a sharp pain which I found it really horrible so the fact it disappeared when I started the steroids was great. Unfortunately I developed steroid induced type 2 diabetes - I’ve been on a low carb high fat eating lifestyle ever since which along with a lot of walking got my HbA1c back within the normal range. It has put me off ever taking steroids again though.
Hope your doctor can fix your neck, it’s one of those things that affects everything you do isn’t it,
