I was unaware until last night that you could take T3 I have been on levothyroxine since 1996, started with over active thyroid then underactive. I feel tired all the time my skin itches constantly lack of appetite and constipated, yet my results come back as fine everytime? can anyone advise thinking about buying T3

Can you get hold of a copy of your results, so that we can see just how fine they are? For a doctor, anything in range will be fine, but that's not always the case. And it sounds as if you have Hashi's. Did you get your antibodies tested?

Post results and ranges here, when you get them. :)

Who said you can only take iron tablets for a short time? Some people need to take them for life.

Ask for a print-out of your results - it is your legal right to have one. GPs rarely understand antibodies and are prone to saying they're negative when they're not. You want the results printed out, with the ranges, so there can be no doubt that that is what the results truly are. GPs, sad to say are capable of lying about results and glossing over them if they don't suit. Get the print-out. :)

Hashi's starts with an over-active period and then goes hypo. You didn't have your thyroid removed, or anything, did you?

No I was prescribed Carbimazole initially as it was overactive in 1995 it then became underactive have been taking thyroxine ever since then the itching dives me insane at times have tried antihistamines but they do not help also so many creams lotions and potions but it's a inner thig if that makes sense

Yes, makes perfect sense. Have you had your nutrients tested? Vit D, vit B12, folate, ferritin? You could also be low in magnesium, but no point in testing for that, just take some. See if it helps.

Why are you taking calcium? That's not a good thing to do.

And, if you're taking vit D3, you should be taking magnesium because D3 lowers your magnesium. You should also be taking vit K2 - MK7, because taking vit D3 increases your absorption of calcium from food, and K2 makes sure it goes into the bones and teeth, and doesn't build up in the soft tissues.

How much D3 are you taking? Do you have the results of those tests? If the D3 is low, others will probably be low, too.

I'm taking 1500mg calcium carbonate it has 10 micrograms of vitamin D3, it's a chewable tabletI think i'm prescribed that for osteoporosis I broke my leg a couple of years ago, I will try taking magnesium

I really think you ought to write a new post about that. Because that really is not the right way to treat osteoporosis. I'm not an expert, but those that know more than me - and have the links - will respond. I just know that taking calcium - especially without vit K2 - is a really bad idea and can lead to heart attacks and kidney stones. Did you even have your calcium tested before starting? It's very rare to be deficient in calcium in the western world. And, you probably need more vit D, too. Really best to post your blood test results, if you have them. And if not, you really should get them. It's your legal right to have them in the UK. :)

OK, but don't buy magnesium oxide or sulfate, glutimate or aspartate. You want magnesium citrate, malate, glycinate, or taurate. :)
