B12 injections, advice please?

I would like some help with why after being on methylcobolamin 1000mg for 2 years and without it helping me feel better, why B12 injections would give me more of a boost in energy for 2 weeks? I have taken 3 injections so far and they are every 3 months. Next one due August 2018. Thank you in advance.

Which brand of tablet ? Perhaps absorption is an issue whereas injections are delivered direct. If you have neurological issues you should have more regular injections ... Are you taking Folate or Folic Acid that works with B12 in an important way ?

Thank you I have neurological issues and I stopped folic acid back in January 2017

The brand was Better You

The Guidelines for folate and B12 Deficiency clearly state that with neurological issues you need injections more often. These are Guidelines that should have been read by your GP - and will be sitting on his desk :-) Do you want the link ?

Why did you stop the folate ?

Thank you it was stopped back in January 2017 because my folate went over range >20 (2.5 - 19.5)

Have you seen the Guidelines I mentioned above ?

If you have pernicious anaemia (or some other gut problems), you cannot absorb B12 in tablet form. And 1000iu is a quite a low dose.

Yes and I believe the spray under tongue is not much held. I also have P.A. And find that the injection is the only way forward.

Thanks I don't think I have pernicious anaemia but I do have gut problems.
