Sorry for the lighting, if you cant see it it says 96.6 for parietal cell antibody range 0.0 - 24.9

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Im not sure if this qualifies me as auto immune gastritis but thankfully we have discovered this.

positive for IFA means you do have PA (auto-immune gastritis).

Please take a look at the PAS forum

Hi Gambit, I will take a look however I did not test positive for intrinsic factor antibodies, atleast not yet thankfully. This is for the parietal cells that makes the intrinsic factor. I do test high but my IFA is negative and b12 is in range so it kind of seems like my immune system hasnt destroyed too many of them yet? I am looking into endoscopy.

both IFA and GPCA are problematic tests - GPC gets confused by other metabolites so has a tendency to false positives. IFA is quite insensitive so gives false negatives 40-60% of the time.

I can see your point. I think I remember you mentioning this to me before. I do think that since my b12 has gone from a 364 (2017) to 671(2018) i believe it was i think that this is also some sort of proof that the IF are not yet being affected and that b12 supplements are helping.

I will look into GPC test some more as well. I do think i will be looking into an endoscopy because the GPC results were high to get a better understanding of what is going on.

I will most deffinitely be keeping an eye on b12 and will retest in future for IF antibodies. Thank you for your concern, i do appreciate it. I have, since the last time we communicated, started following the PA group and have been reading posts as well.

Someone also commented about not taking b12 before b12 test and stopping b12 atleast a week before IF test on the pernicious anemia sight. I still recognize what you said anout how accurate it is but I also realize I couldve better read about it before getting the test.
