And which is the best . Ive purchased 25 mg tablet so do I take one or half at a time ?? , and are they any side effects or if I take too much what are the symptoms to look out for .

Please post your latest thyroid test results, with their reference ranges, to include

TSH

FT4

FT3

all tested at the same time.

You can't know if you need T3 until you have those results.

Don't take T3 until you know whether you need it, if you take it and don't need it you will cause yourself health problems.

Yes, surgeries are required to give you your test results, we are legally entitled to them under the Data Protection Act 1998, and since 25th May 2018 they are not allowed to charge for them.

Saying that they are fine doesn't mean anything other than they are somewhere within the range. It's where in range that matters so you need to know the actual result along with the reference range.

If your surgery doesnt test all three, then as I said you will need them to be done at the same time to know if you will benefit from taking T3, and you will need to do what hundreds of us do and that is private testing which can be done with a home fingerprick or venous blood draw test with Medichecks or Blue Horizon.

If you've never had thyroid antibodies or vitamins and minerals tested then it's recommended to do those too. Thyroid hormone can't work properly unless nutrient levels are optimal.

Test bundles are the best value so ideally you need this test for thyroid panel and vitamins/minerals

medichecks.com/thyroid-func... or

bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk/t...

It's the same test, different company, both recommended by Thyroid UK.

my doctor who doesn't want to no

That's a common theme that runs through the forum I'm afraid :(

Sometimes it's because they're not taught much at all about thyroid disease so don't really know how to treat it. They seem to be told that TSH is king and that's all there is to it.

Come back with your results in a new thread and members can comment.

You can add a picture to the first post in a thread, so you could either edit this one or make a new thread so more people will see it.

Make sure you don't show your personal details (name, address, date of birth) in your photo, and get a nice close up so we can see the results clearly :)
