Hunger pains all the time now grrr

Does anyone take any supplements that expand in your tummy to curb the hunger pains?

For example this morning I had porridge oats made with 3/4 water and 1/4 skimmed milk with fresh strawberries at 6:45 for breakfast I have got to work for 8:15 and my stomach is hurting through hunger pains and then I just eat all day.

I have tried high fibre more protein but nothing works. If i keep on like this I will become the size of a house.

My medications levels have not changed as my bloods are pretty stable T4 100mcg T3 25mcg (self medicating)

My TSH is 0.03 Range 0.27 - 4.20

Free T4 14.19 Range 12.0 - 22.0

Free T3 4.89 Range 3.1 - 6.8

My average resting heart rate is 84, which i suppose is fairly high but it does not feel fast for me.

I had the same problems especially with porridge until I upped the fat content of the oats. I actually lost weight too. The good fats debate is a minefield of shouty people but it might be worth looking in to.

Try full fat milk even semi-skimmed or 100% milk no water.

Totally agree with Kes8. It's the fat that fills you up! It's a terrible mistake to try and cut out fat. Eating fat does not make you fat, we need it. The clues are there in what it does for us. It fills us up and makes everything taste better. And that's because nature wants us to eat it! You cannot live without fat. :)

Definitely full fat milk. Much better for you and nobody can expect to feel full with just a few oats inside them? The low fat diet is now recognised as being a poor way to lose weight. Just eat normal, complete food, organic if possible, with nothing removed in the name of being healthier. Cook everything yourself and buy no ready-cooked meals. They are simply lining the pockets of the big food manufacturers and are full of suspect ingredients . Do not think excluding food types is the answer. Do not fill up on cakes, sweets and biscuits. Use a smaller plate and walk everywhere if possible. I know it sounds brutal but honestly it works. Oh, and lots of fresh water, with no sugary drinks.

Thanks all I think i need to exclude all the low fat stuff and go back to basics.

it might be worth trying a ketogenic diet as that tends to suppress appetite. Difficult to start with. Having a lot of carbs and not much else in the morning will make you hungry again very quickly, so you could try a nice, old fashioned full English instead, steak and eggs, or sausage and beans, for example.
